Casting & Molding Process
H-J Enterprises has a full scale mold and core department, 3 Induction furnaces with pouring lines and shot blast Wheelabrators for cleaning and sand removal to meet the needs and capabilities expected by customers. H-J Enterprises has unique abilities to produce cleaner, higher-quality brass and bronze castings than traditional methods can.
Using CNC-produced patterns and a special hard-mold sand process, our castings are so accurate and consistant they rarely need grinding. H-J will even do machining of your castings. So whether you want perfect shapes right out of the mold, or you need them drilled, threaded, or whatever we can provide "one-stop" service.
Better brass or bronze castings with fewer steps: what makes more sense? At H-J, we also promise you on-time delivery and unbeatable personal service.
Pattern & Molding
Our molding process is a perfect blend of silica sands calculated to produce the fine texture of our castings. Our mold processing machines are custom to taylor the needs for quality and quantity to achieve casting specifications.
- Silica sand mixed and induced into the patterns.
- Sand gassed and hardened in seconds to form molds.
- Cope and Drag molds with minimal parting lines.
Melting & Pouring
The melting process is done using induction furnaces melting brass, bronze and other copper based metals. Each melting pour charged with the industry's cleanest ingot producing quality casting grain for strength and ease of threading and machining.
- Induction furnaces for precise heating control.
- Unique clamping system for pouring stability.
- Accuracy of metal specifications.
Casting Cleaning
After the cooling process, the molds are cleaned in a Wheelabrator removing the sand from the castings with steel shot defining the castings finish. The sand then reclaimed and the castings are sent to a sweco machine to finalize the castings smooth texture.
- Cooled molds are loaded into the Wheelabrator for sand removal.
- Cleaned castings are dismantled from their riser and runners.
- Castings are loaded into sweco machines for the final casting finish from the foundry.
